One Thousand Words: Photos by Geoff Sowrey

Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada

Following the great Canadian pattern of being the largest city in a province but not its capital, Moncton sits towards New Brunswick's eastern end, where it meets with Nova Scotia. Up the tidal Petitcodiac River from the Bay of Fundy, the city straddles the river at a safe distance from the floodplain, keeping the majority safe and dry from the dramatic floods that comes two times a day further down river.
