Looking out Cobh Harbour

Roches Point is on the left, Crosshaven on the right. Through this channel flows every ship that goes in and out of Cobh Harbour, which is why Spike Island was so critical to the harbour's defence. The Titanic sailed through on its fateful journey west, Cobh (then Queenstown) being its last stop before it sank.
