The intersection of Sunset and Talbot
The Canada Southern (CASO) Line had to cross the Kettle Creek valley just west of downtown St. Thomas. Though not a huge valley, it was certainly enough of a barrier to warrant a large, heavy trestle bridge. (This is the third bridge, opened in 1930. The first was a single-track wooden bridge, the second an iron girder-built bridge.) After the CASO was abandoned and tracks pulled, St. Thomas opted to keep the trestle and have turned it into the Elevated Park. And the view from up there is pretty fantastic.
